Heavenly Father You bless each of us so much
daily we feel Your love and Your tender touch
You bless us God but how often do we bless You
for some a two way blessing is something new

We bless You when we attend a church service
but if blessing takes too long we oft get nervous
Father what if You blessed us in that same way
when we asked would You simply say 'Not today'

How many of Your disciples speak to You Sunday
then misplace Your Name sometime on Monday
When we choose not to be Your feet and hands
Father are we really disciples or just good fans

It is sad that we must be warned and cajoled
why can't we just do as Your Son Lord Jesus told
Does a branch tell a tree 'No this is not my turn
rather than bear fruit now I would prefer to burn'

To glorify You Father one must be a fruit bearer
to glorify You one must be both giver and carer
Father we pray that we will today take Your hand
Father we pray that we will do as You command

Faithful are we God but fruitful we must also be
by giving You full time honor and giving it joyfully
God our failing to bear fruit must cause You sorrow
for You are The Vine yesterday today and tomorrow
