"For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."
I Corinthians 13:12
Windows
Denis Brent Rees
As children we peered out the window standing still
on tiptoes we strained to see over the window sill
After much thought we came to a profound decision
the size of our window is what limited our vision
Parents sought homes built with windows galore
if there weren't enough they'd often build more
Curtains were parted wide open to let in the light
then later closed tightly to avoid the chill of night
Father You provide windows but oft limit their size
Your almighty wisdom being greater than we realize
As we grow in Your sight and love You more dearly
You give us larger windows to see things ever clearly
After darkness our eyes must adjust to bright rays
You adjust the view of our windows with early haze
You want our knowledge of You to grow and mature
windows are larger as a faith becomes fit and sure
Father You knew us before we came into this world
You know at what pace Your glory should be unfurled
You shed Your Light as Satan prefers then to blind us
Your Light is so bright even his darkness can't bind us
Father our windows enlarge as we are Spirit-driven
You know if we can handle more than You've given
Thank You for The Light You so lovingly sacrificed
may our windows be such they reveal Jesus Christ
In The Name of Christ Jesus
Amen!
