I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts. (NIV84)
In the land in which I live, there is much talk about freedom. It’s the land of the free and the home of the brave. During my lifetime, I have witnessed my freedoms stomped into oblivion, one by one. In the name of profit, stomp. In the name of equality, stomp. In the name of terrorists, stomp. In the name of safety, stomp. In the name of climate change, stomp. In the name of pandemic, stomp. The boots of the army of the Left come stomping in the name of HATE.
Who are the soldiers of the Left? Who are these haters of freedom?
The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left. (NIV84)
And who is the fool?
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. (NIV84)
It is the God of freedom that these haters hate. These haters do not understand the nature of freedom or the nature of God.
I opened this article with Psalm 119:45, the Psalm about the Word of God. That passage tells you where freedom comes from. I do not, I repeat, I do NOT blame the soldiers of the Left for the obliteration of so many freedoms and the coming oppression of governmental tyranny. The loss of freedom is inevitable because the church has lost her way. Freedom comes from God, and the church has wandered away from God’s precepts. The church has built walls of doctrine as if doctrine can replace God. If you believe the Word of God, then why are you so unlike Christ?. I don’t care what you SAY you believe; actual belief is witnessed in actions. Is God the God of every moment of your life? Then live in him.
Where is the Living Church? She is distracted with the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth, making her unfruitful in the things of God. She has the form of godliness but denies its power. Her faith in God is so weak that she will not trust herself to God’s directions. When a living follower of Christ comes into her midst, they shake their fists and gnash their teeth at them, driving them away, screaming about their doctrine. And so the boots of the left will soon come and kick in their doors. And they will cower away glorying in that they are being persecuted for the name of Christ. They had a nation of freedom, and they let it slip away; how glorious!
What about the militant Christians that protest the family planning center? Aren’t they full of fire for Jesus? They are almost as disobedient as those that love sin and rebellion.
Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.
6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. (NIV84)
This is a very interesting passage. It is God that established the oppressive government that terrorizes its citizens. Why do you think that is? It is because the citizens were using their freedom to indulge in sin and rebellion. Read the entire history of the children of Israel. How many times did God raise up an enemy to persecute them? Why, do the Scriptures say, that God did this?—Rebellion every time.
Do you think that God has changed in the last few thousand years? If God is raising up an army of oppressors today, would not the reason be the same? Yes, of course, it’s the same; God does not change. The Word of God is forever.
When you see those of the Left marching louder and quicker and with confidence and boldness, understand that God has sent them. He is coming to spit you out of his mouth!
I wonder if you even see the threat. Do you? Do you see the threat?
I see the media, the Left, and many in government pushing for socialism, which is just another name for totalitarianism. Do they not realize that the name Nazi is an abbreviation for “Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei” – which in English is the National Socialist German Worker’s Party. Which had nothing to do with workers and everything to do with Satan taking all the power through his surrogate Adolf Hitler.
God allowed all of that to happen because of sin in the world, and I see it coming again. This time it will be so much worse. If that doesn’t frighten you, then I don’t know what to say.
Edmund Burke (1729-1797) said, “Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.” Which has some truth in it, but should have said that those that do not understand history are destined to repeat it. You might know what happened, but until you understand why the things happened, you are destined to repeat them. The point being that rebellion results in oppression, and obedience to God results in freedom. The world today is speeding into rebellion, and oppressive government is the brick wall that they will soon run into. Government is the arm through which Satan works his aims, and when the people become rebellious, God lets Satan do his thing. (That’s a spiritual secret.) Rebellious people are by their own actions, sons, and daughters of Satan.
I hope that you can see that all of the events of Revelation come upon the world because of rebellion. The rebellious are already dead within, and anything that might save them from their folly is worth it if only some might come to life.
The answer for you, my fellow Christian, lies not with aligning yourself with the conservatives, but with God. You cannot forestall oppression through worldly means. Revelation is coming, and that’s an unavoidable fact, but your personal destiny is not already written. You must choose God and stop persecuting those that he has sent you.
As a young boy, in 1962, I watched the musical The Music Man. The main character was a con-man that went from town to town, making promises and taking the people’s money. Before he could get this plan started, he needed to create or point out a desperate need for the reform he was proposing. He pointed out the moral threat of a new pool table coming to town. He fanned the people’s fears with a song called Ya Got Trouble. He pointed it out, singing, “Ya got trouble, my friend, right here, I say, trouble right here in River City.” This is precisely what the Left is doing today. They are singing about all the ways that the world is going to end, but everything they say are lies. They do not understand that they are agents of evil. They do not understand that God has raised them up to prepare the world for the coming judgment. But, you, my friend, should not listen to their lies and instead listen to God and obey him. Devote yourself fully to God, and you shall be with him forever.
