The Little Horn
“While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth that spoke boastfully. (NIV)
The man known as the Antichrist/Beast is represented here as a little horn.
The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. 25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time. (NIV)
Horns represent people with power. This ‘little horn’ is a king that will arise in the latter days. The fourth kingdom from which he arises is a kingdom that is really a confederation of ten nations, represented here by the ten horns (ten kings). From within the ten nation confederacy a small person will arise (not size but of importance) and he will subdue three of the national leaders on his rise to power. He will then take the lead position of the ten. The fact that he speaks against God, that is, Jesus Christ and Jesus’ authority is a marking feature of this man.
Remember that we saw previously that the Antichrist/Beast-man orchestrates the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem and then enters into it and declares himself to be the Christ, well when he enters it and takes this authority upon himself, he then tries to establish a new set of special days. In the Law of Moses there are outlined everything that the Temple priests are to do and when, but this man will try to change things so as to honor himself. Notice that the saints will be handed over to him for 3 ½ years. This is the last 3 ½ years of the coming judgment as seen in Revelation known as the Great Tribulation, the Day of the Lord, the Time of Wrath and the Fiery Furnace among other names.
The Stern-Faced King
Out of one of them came another horn, which started small but grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land. 10 It grew until it reached the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth and trampled on them. 11 It set itself up to be as great as the Prince of the host; it took away the daily sacrifice from him, and the place of his sanctuary was brought low. 12 Because of rebellion, the host of the saints and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground. (NIV)
This passage is also speaking of the Antichrist/Beast-man, but more accurately this is only talking about the Beast-man and not really the Antichrist. Notice that this man comes out of one of the Greek leaders that take Alexander’s kingdom after his death. The Antichrist comes from the fourth kingdom, but the Beast comes from the third kingdom. This is a very interesting puzzle and it will be explained in a different post.
“In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a stern-faced king, a master of intrigue, will arise. 24 He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men and the holy people. 25 He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power. (NIV)
Here we see some of the personality traits of the Beast. He is called the Stern-Faced king. And he is going to be a master of intrigue. He will consider himself to be superior. Basically, as far as I can see, he will be very much Adolph Hitler like. I believe that Hitler was a warning to the world. Hitler was a “See it can happen today in the blink of an eye,” sort of warning. My friends take heed of that warning.
The Contemptible Person
“He will be succeeded by a contemptible person who has not been given the honor of royalty. He will invade the kingdom when its people feel secure, and he will seize it through intrigue. 22 Then an overwhelming army will be swept away before him; both it and a prince of the covenant will be destroyed. 23 After coming to an agreement with him, he will act deceitfully, and with only a few people he will rise to power. 24 When the richest provinces feel secure, he will invade them and will achieve what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did. He will distribute plunder, loot and wealth among his followers. He will plot the overthrow of fortresses—but only for a time. (NIV)
Here we see more on the personality traits of the Beast-man. More and more he sounds very Hitler like. Notice that he has not been given the honor of royalty, just like Hitler he is a common man that takes power through deceit, intrigue and murder. Like Hitler he crushes those that oppose him. Like Hitler he makes treaties that he later breaks—very Hitler like.

The Lawless One
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. (NIV)
This Lawless One is also the man called the Antichrist/Beast-man.
Almost all of the prophecies in Daniel, the New Testament letters and in Revelation deal with the same end-times period, that is, the time of the Antichrist/Beast-man. The Bible is coming to a major focus right now before your eyes. Now is the time to pay attention.
